Residential

Ways We may better serve you at Home

Example 1:

A retiree had recently purchased a high end computer system (Dell® Gateway®…) and subsequently bought a DVD/CD recorder/player.  Rather than disconnect and transport the entire system to a local computer store to get the recorder installed he contacted us.

We installed the unit in less than an hour and provided training on the new DVD equipment.

Example 2:

A client contacted us regarding an old workstation that was not functioning properly and was, in fact, virus infected.  After a consultation the client decided to purchase a new computer.  We were able to help as follows.

We custom built a new computer according to her specifications, installed it, and recovered most of the data off her old PC and transferred it to the new one.

We also setup her Road Runner cable modem, installed a 4-port Belkin firewall to protect her privacy as well as installed a HP 5550 printer and HP ScanJet 2300 scanner.  We gave her comprehensive training sessions to help her get proficient with her new setup and equipment.

Example 3:

A power surge unfortunately destroyed the external 56k modem of a senior citizen.  She wanted to get her system back up and running since Internet access was very important to her.

Within 24 hours, we arrived at her home with a new US Robotics 56k modem, installed and configured it, and re-configured AOL to work with it.  We had her back on the Internet within 1 hour of our arrival, along with a new APC power surge protector to protect her new modem from any future electrical damage.

Example 4:

AOL® recently delivered a DSL package to a teacher who didn’t know how it worked or how to install the equipment.  She called us and we were happy to help.

We installed the DSL package, upgraded her AOL® to the latest version and gave her some training on how to use it.

Also upgraded her computer RAM to allow faster access to certain applications and Internet surfing.

Example 5:

This family bought a few computers from a friend that were previously used in a business network; so the computers had a lot of settings and software that they didn’t need or want.  They also wanted both computers to be able to share a cable Internet connection.

One of our network engineers re-installed Windows on both her computers, saving only the data and settings they requested.

Also, installed and configured a Linksys firewall with Internet sharing capabilities, allowing her family to use the Internet on both computers at the same time, securely.

Example 6:

A family of 6 had a non-working Verizon® DSL line for 6 months.  After many hours of dead ends and frustration they called us to get the job done.

In a space of 3 days, we worked with Verizon tech support to get the line repaired and allowed multiple computers in the same household to share this one DSL line.

Installed a new HP printer on their Gateway computer.

Upgraded the RAM on their Dell computer and resolved issues with attached printer.
